Govt to meet medical expenses

PM sends two bureaucrats to review facilities at RML hospital

The PM sent two senior bureaucrats, the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister and the  Union Home Secretary to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital to review the treatment facilities at the hospital. Pramod Chaurasia(42) died at 7 am on Thursday He was a resident of Loni, a Delhi suburb. Another died in the late evening.

A total of 57 persons were brought to the hospital out of which 9 were brought dead and 3 died during the treatment. There are a total of 33 patients undergoing treatment in the hospital as of now, out of which 19 are in ICU, said authorities. Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister and the Home Secretary reviewed the existing arrangements in the hospital and talked to the patients, their relatives and doctors. They claimed that people are satisfied over the treatment and facilities.

At the instance of his kin, one patient was decided to be transferred to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences for microvascular surgery.

The senior bureaucrats made clear to the RML Hospital administration that if any experts are required from outside, they shall be provided immediately to them.

The government has decided that a Facilitation Team will be placed in Dr RML Hospital under the overall supervision of Joint Secretary facilitate and coordinate with RML Hospital authorities expert treatment and other facilities to the patients.

The Facilitation team will remain in touch with the kin of patients and facilitate their requirements on urgent basis, said the authorities.
