JOIN USIn view of the Independence Day ceremonial celebrations on August 15 at 9 am, the City traffic police have made the following traffic arrangements in and around the Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Ground, (Brigade Parade Grounds):
Yellow passes: Invites with Yellow Car passes could come on to Cubbon Road and enter Gate No.1 (One) facing north side of the Brigade Parade Ground, and park their vehicles on the west side of Parade ground.
White passes: Invites with White Car passes and the Secretaries to the Government, Military Officers, Police Officers etc., could use Gate No.2 (Two), i.e., Cubbon Road in front of Military Supply Depot and park their vehicles on north-east side of parking lot inside the Parade ground.
Pink passes: All invites with Pink pass should park their vehicles at BRV Police Parade Ground (entry to B R V Parade Ground is through MG Road) and come to Parade ground through Gate No.3 by walk.
Green passes: All Green car pass holders are requested to park their vehicles in parking lot on Kamaraja Road and Main Guard Cross Road and by walk enter the Parade ground through Gate No.4.
All the vehicles carrying participants in the parade and cultural events shall be brought to the ground through Gate No.3. Their vehicles should be parked behind the fort wall inside the Parade ground (South side).
The government vehicles of PWD, BMP and other departments shall enter the Parade ground from Gate No.3 and park their vehicles behind the participants’ vehicles (South side). All the two-wheelers shall be parked on Kamaraja Road North side and enter through Gate No.3 on Kamaraja Road by walk. Those who do not have car passes can park their vehicles on Kamaraja Road parking area and enter Parade ground through Gate No.3, on Kamaraja Road by walk.
Traffic restrictions
The traffic will be diverted on August 15 from 08-30 am to 10-30 am from BRV Jn to Kamaraj Road Jn (both directions) on Cubbon Road.
The vehicles coming from CTO Circle towards Manipal Center on Cubbon road will take left turn on Central Street at BRV Jn and then move as follows - Central Street Jn - right turn - Infantry Road - Safina Plaza - left turn - Main Guard Road - Allies Circle - Dispensary Road - Kamaraja Road & Dickinson Road Jn - right turn - K R Road - K R Road Jn-left turn-and Cubbon Road onwards to Manipal Center Jn.
The vehicle coming from Manipal Jn towards CTO Jn on Cubbon Road will take left turn at K R Road Jn towards - Cauvery Art and Crafts Circle Jn - right turn - M G Road - Anil Kumble Circle - right turn - BRV Jn - left turn - and on to CTO Circle.
The vehicle coming from Anil Kumble Circle towards Cubbon Road will go straight on Central Street Jn - right turn - Infantry Road - Safina Plaza - left turn - Main Guard Road - Allies Circle - Dispensary Road - Kamaraja Road and Dickinson Road Jn - right turn - K R Road Jn - left turn - and Cubbon Road onwards to Manipal Center Jn.
The vehicles coming from Cauvery Arts and Crafts Circle on M G Road going towards Cubbon Road and K R Road junction shall go straight on M G Road towards Anil Kumble Jn - right turn - BRV Jn- left turn - Cubbon Road and on to CTO Circle onwards.
Electronic gadgets banned
Due to security reasons all invitees and public, who are attending the parade, are requested not to bring cellphones, cameras, radio, umbrella and any other equipment to the venue. All are requested to be seated before 08.30 am.
