'Visvesvaraya's ideals are ageless'

They can become achievers in their lives, if they follow the principles and ideals of Sir M Visvesvaraya, said Chief Whip of the Legislative Council Dr A H Shivayogiswamy.

He was speaking after inaugurating a programme, organised in memory of Sir M Visvesvaraya, to mark his birth anniversary programme at his hometown Muddenahalli in Chikkaballapur taluk. The programme was organised at Sir M V School on Thursday.

Shivayogiswamy said the life and contributions of Sir M Visvesvaraya inspire us to strive hard in life.

“His adherence to punctuality and discipline also instills among us to imbibe the qualities he stood for, throughout his life. His life is an inspiration for the younger generation to follow,” he added.

Time and work

Speaking on the occasion, Member of the Legislative Council Y A Narayanaswamy said that Sir M Visvesvaraya stayed away from corruption, ego, red-tapism and greediness. His ideals and principles are ageless.

“Throughout his life, he gave priority for time and work. Only few people are blessed with such noble qualities,” he said.

Chairman of Sir M V Vidya Samsthe A V Bhairegowda, Director Suresh, educationist Prof Kodirangappa, former chairman of Sir V M Vidya Samsthe Desa Nanjappa, Venkatachalaraju, Secretary Dairy Narayanswamy, Joint Secretary N Lokanath, Directors B M Krishna, Shrikant Bhat, Seetharam, K Narayanappa, Gangadharamurthy, Desa Nanjundaramaiah Shetty, C S Venkataramu, retired head master Ramaiah, Assistant Commissioner Vasanth Kumar, Bhadrachalam from Lions Club, head master of the school Devaraj and several others were present on the occasion.
