One of the most awaited auditions in the City, the event was conceptualised by Prasad Bidapa Associates and aimed to give an apt platform for budding talent, who want to make it big in the glamour world both in Bangalore and India.

About this initiative, Prasad Bidapa asserted, “We have been conducting this for many years now and the response has only been growing.

Every year, the turnout is very good and also all the people who take part in the auditions are fabulous. I can say the same about this year as well.”

The young models, mostly in the age group of 16 to 25, are put to different kinds of training in terms of gait, looks and communication. They are groomed to perfection by getting hands-on training in various aspects of ramp modelling.

The ‘Megamodel Hunt’ is aimed at recognising the raw talent in aspiring youngsters of the City and grooming them into poised and confident models. The evening saw 30 new faces — 15 men and 15 women, who were handpicked and shortlisted from around 60 aspirants.  There were two rounds conducted to shortlist the models.

During the first round, 60 models were judges by acclaimed choreographer, Kevin Oliver, from Dubai. The criterion for judgement was the way the models walked and presented themselves. After this, 13 were handpicked and grouped with a new set of models who were judged by Kevin and Prasad. The stage was oozing with glamour, which made it tough for anyone to decide who was hotter and more glamourous.

The basic criterion for taking part in this hunt was the height which had to be a minimum of 173 cms. The models were also required to be physically fit. But ramp modelling was not the only avenue open to them. Prasad added, “We take the tall models for the ramp but the ones on the shorter side need not feel disappointed. If they are photogenic, we train them for photoshoots too.”

The venue was buzzing with energy. Most of the models were trying out their luck in the modelling world for the first time. “I have not really done any professional modelling. I wanted to try my hand at this just for the experience. I am going to pursue my higher studies in the UK,” said Taron Sabil. But a few others dreamt of taking modelling seriously. Said Neha, “I really want to become a model. I was a little nervous but after coming here, I feel much more confident.”
