State BJP president K S Eshwarappa, who conducted the meeting, held a marathon discussion from 11 am to 6 pm with 10 persons who are in-charge of various wings of the party. The meeting was also attended by a host of office-bearers of the party.

Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, MP Ananth Kumar and minister R Ashoka were among those who attended the meeting. Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa was away in Kollur performing a pooja on account of Mahalaya Amavasya.

Party spokesperson C T Ravi said such meetings are conducted periodically to strengthen the organisation.

The meeting discussed the preparations to face elections in the teachers and graduates constituencies next June. The ongoing elections to Kolar and other milk federations were also discussed, he said.

Party sources said the date of entry of L K Advani’s rath yatra into Karnataka is yet to be confirmed. The yatra is going to pass through coastal districts and reach Goa via Karwar.

Advani may take a break while in Karnataka to address public meetings in Bangalore and Hubli, it is learnt.

When asked if the meeting discussed the yatra planned by Yeddyurappa, Ravi replied in the negative. After the meeting, Sadananda Gowda held a separate meeting with Eshwarappa and organisational secretaries Santosh and Satish.
