The matter came to light on Tuesday after the victim reported the incident to the Panchkula police near Chandigarh. The victim alleged that the accused girls forced her into a car and snatched her mobile and purse. The girls then slapped her and tried to strip her. The incident took place on September 26. However, the victim kept mum till the MMS became public.
She said the accused threatened her with dire consequences. The incident has its genesis in a spat between the girls at a Chandigarh-based discotheque recently.
The victim, who lives in Sector 15 in Panchkula with her parents said her tormentors were mere acquaintances. She accused the girls of eyeing her money since she belonged to a affluent family. The police confirmed that they had received a complaint from the girl. No FIR has been registered so far.
