<p>NCP General Secretary Anitha Machaiah has urged the district administration to take necessary precautionary measures to prevent spreading of H1N1 influenza since a large number of tourists are expected to visit Kodagu during weekends.<br /><br />“The district administration should not neglect the disease that has sent tentacles across the country,” she said addressing media persons here on Friday.<br /><br />“As on now, Kodagu is free of swine flu. The situation should be maintained. Steps should be taken to see that the flu does not enter the district,” she pressed.<br /><br />“Since the district is being depicted as a rich district, the government is not serious about the problems of the district. Though the coffee growers and farmers are experiencing a lot of problems, no elected representative is trying to bring the issue to the notice of the Central government,” she regretted.</p>
