Conceding that there was a “small” problem with one of the fuel vendors, the Kingfisher spokesperson said: “We are confident that the problem will be resolved.”

The oil companies had stopped jet fuel supply to the private air carrier for non-payment of dues. The disruption caused a chaotic situation at the Airport after the flights were delayed. The airline officials had to bear the wrath of passengers who demanded an answer for the “mess”.

A few passengers reportedly took flights of other airlines to reach their destinations.
Cash-and-carry option Kingfisher Airlines, owned by Vijay Mallya, had been put on cash-and-carry option by oil companies for the past 10 months. The option means dues are cleared daily for oil supplies and no credit is given.

The matter was resolved and supply of ATF resumed thereafter, a statement from Kingfisher later said.
