Prakash Shetty, an advocate, has approached the Court alleging misuse of flag to serve personal ends and seeking action against Gowda.
Commands respect
The petitioner had stated that the State’s flag commands as much respect as the National Tricolour, governed by the Flag Code of India and Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971.
“Narayana Gowda is involved in several criminal cases. But has been misusing the State flag, emblem and the name of Rastrakavi Kuvempu,” said Mahesh Kiran, counsel for the petitioner.
