Last Updated 18 October 2011, 19:06 IST

Hearing the interim bail application, Justice B V Pinto ordered the Lokayukta police and Sirajin Basha, the complainant, to file objections.

Yeddyurappa has challenged the order of the Special Lokayukta Court which rejected his bail application on Saturday. He was lodged at the Parappana Agrahara prison for a few hours on Saturday and was shifted to Jayadeva Hospital, after he developed health complications.

In his bail application, Yeddyurappa sought relief on health grounds saying he was suffering from high blood sugar level, high blood pressure, shivering, fever and severe backache.
Yeddyurappa claimed that all the denotifications were done in accordance with the law and the private complaints against him were politically motivated.

Senior counsel Ravi B Naik, who is appearing on behalf of Yeddyurappa, had claimed that bail could be granted since the charges against him were not grave.

Senior counsel Jayakumar Patil, who also appeared for the former chief minister, submitted that he was under constant supervision of doctors and there was no apprehension that he would flee from justice as he was deeply-rooted in public life.

Setty case adjourned

The bail application of former minister Krishnaiah Setty will be heard on Wednesday.
Setty’s counsel, Tomy Sebastian, urged the court to link the application to Yeddyurappa’s bail application as the two emerged from the same circumstances.
