Yeddyurappa to be in jail till Nov 3

The Special Lokayukta Court on Saturday extended the judicial custody of former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and former minister S N Krishnaiah Setty to November 3.Yeddyurappa was not produced before the court by the jail authorities on health grounds, although no specific ailment was mentioned.

All the other accused in the case were present in the Court. Yeddyurappa’s two sons, Vijayendra and Raghavendra, his son-in-law R N Sohan Kumar, MLA Hemachandra Sagar and the other accused in one of the private complaints surrendered their passports to the Court.

The Court is hearing cases related to two private complaints filed by advocate Sirajin Basha. Earlier, the Court had rejected the bail applications of Yeddyurappa and Krishnaiah Setty, but granted conditional bail to others.

The first complaint lists 15 accused including Yeddyurappa. The case relates to illegal denotification of land in Arakere village (2 acres 31 guntas), Devarchikkanahalli (1 acre 7 guntas) and Geddalahalli (around 4 acres).

The second case lists 10 accused including Yeddyurappa and relates to denotification of land in Agara village for the benefit of his son-in law R N Sohan Kumar; Sahyadri Healthcare and Diagnostics owned by B S Vijayendra and B S Raghavendra and MLA Hemachandra Sagar receiving money in exchange for illegal denotification of land in Uttarahalli and securing land for Healthzone Advisors in exchange for denotification of lands at Rachenahalli.
