CNC stages token protest to seek separate Kodava land

Clad in traditional Kodava attire, all the office-bearers of CNC took part in the protest.
Nachappa said that the government should announce separate Kodava land on the model of Gorkhaland of Darjeeling. Kodava language should be considered as minority language and reservation should be provided for Kodavas. Kodava land should be given security under Article 370 and 371. Kodava language should be included in the eighth schedule of the Constitution and Kodava university should be set up.

A memorandum highlighting the need for the creation of an autonomous homeland for the Kodavas in Kodagu was submitted to the government through Deputy Commissioner Ashwathanarayana Gowda on the occasion.
