The event was organised by Rotary Club Indiranagar as a fund raiser for the humanitarian service projects conducted by the club.

The singers, Gaurav Bangia from Mumbai, Ram Thirath from Hoshiyarpur, Rithisha Padmanabh and Yaseen from Bangalore, took the audience back to the past.

The group chose some of the compositions by legendary music composers like Naushad, Roshan, Laxmikant Pyarelal, Shankar Jaikishan and Madan Mohan for whom Mohammed Rafi had sung. The singers had carefully picked songs which would appeal to the audience.

They sang Man Re Tu Kahe from Chitralekha, Ab Kya Misaal Doon from Aarthi, Sau Baar Janam Lenge from the album Ustaadon Ke Ustad, Choo Lenge, Chaudhvin Ka Chand Ho, Aaj Mausum Bada etc.

Sharing his views about Adaab Rafi, Vidyut Shenoy, a member of the Rotary Club Indiranagar, said, “This is a tribute paid to the greatest singer of all times. Adaab
Rafi is a way for Rafi fans to greet each other. The icon’s melodious voice covers all genres of music and appeals to everyone.”

A large number of music lovers were present at the event and were enthralled by the charming voice of the singers.  “The songs of Mohammed Rafi make us nostalgic. The lyrics of the songs were very profound and conveyed strong emotions. The singers were versatile and did justice to the songs,” said Sumathi Sampath, a member of the audience.

Sandhya Suri, an economics lecturer, said, “I was totally engrossed in the music. It brought back the freshness of those days. The songs were very memorable and soulful.”
