Teri opens environment lab to public

The lab, constructed by The Energy and Resources Institute (Teri)  at a cost of Rs three crore, is located at the Teri Southern Regional Centre, 4th Main, II Cross, Domlur II Stage.

“The lab has been an integral part of the research work being carried out at Teri. But henceforth the lab will be thrown open to the public,” Dr Sumit Kumar Gautham of Teri said.

The fee for tests are as prescribed by the Central Pollution Control Board.

Well equipped

The lab has analytical and advanced environmental monitoring equipment and is capable of testing a wide range of ambient and indoor air samples, water and soil samples for the presence of heavy metals, pesticides, and other contaminants, Gautham said.
