YSR Congress Honorary President and Pulivendula MLA Y S Vijayamma, wife of late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, had filed the petition seeking a probe into the assets of the Leader of Opposition.

CBI Joint Director (Hyderabad Zone) V V Laksmi Narayana, who collected the copies (of Vijayamma's petition) from the HC, told the media the preliminary inquiry will be completed within three months as per the court order.

The senior official had recently said inquiry will be launched after they receive the copies (running into over 20,000 documents).

In an interim order, the HC had on November 14 directed the CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED) to conduct an investigation into the assets of the former Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, Telugu Desam Party sources said Naidu will file a petition against the High Court order next week. All documentary evidences, wherein the cases Vijayamma referred in her petition, which previously were struck down by courts, would also be submitted along with
the petition, they said.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday last had refused to stay the CBI probe but granted Naidu liberty to approach the High Court for modification or vacation of its interim order.
