Go-yathre from Sept 28


Addressing a press meet, Yathra Committee Honourary President Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade said the yathre will be flagged off on September 28 from Kurukshethra and will conclude on Makara sankranthi at Nagpura. The yathre will travel to 5 lakh villages in the country.

The yathre will travel in Karnataka between November 30 and December 7. Similar supporting yathre will be held in district and taluk-level.

“Cow should be declared as national animal. All the rules and regulations related to cow protection must be followed. The meat should be banned. A separate ministry must be constituted. Research on the cow dung and urine must be undertaken,” he suggested.

Last year, the Dharmasthala Rural Development Project had given a financial assistance of Rs 1 crore for the Milk Producers’ Co-operative Society. Even this year, a sum of Rs 1 crore will be given, he announced.
