Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee would release the coins at a function here on September 15, the 101st birth anniversary of Annadurai, an official press release said.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y Rajasekara Reddy, who would be the chief guest at the function, would release a souvenir brought out by the Tamil Nadu Government on the occasion.
Meanwhile, DMK has planned a massive celebration at Kancheepuram, the birth place of the late leader on September 26.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi would be given the Anna Award at the function.
Dravidar Kazhagam leader K Veeramani, chief of Kunrakudi mutt, Ponambalam Adigal and educationist Dr V C Kolandasamy would be given Anna, Periyar, Kalaignar and Bharatidasan awards respectively at the function, a DMK press release said.
