In view of the security restrictions in the area, the Delhi Metro has decided to close down two stations for few hours on New Year’s eve. Entry and exit from Rajiv Chowk and Barakhamba Road Metro stations will be closed from 8 pm on December 31.

“Sale of tickets at these stations will stop at 7:45 pm and shutters of all entry gates will be closed at 8 pm. However, interchange facility between Line-2 (HUDA City Centre – Jahangirpuri) and Line-3/4 (Dwarka Sec-21 – NOIDA City Centre/Anand Vihar) will remain operational at Rajiv Chowk Metro station till the end of 11 pm,” a DMRC spokesperson said.

No train operating on Line-3/4 (Dwarka Sec-21 – NOIDA City Centre/Anand Vihar) will stop at Barakhamba Road Metro station after 8 pm.

Otherwise the services on this corridor will remain normal. Services at all other Metro corridors and stations will continue normally. However, no tokens for Rajiv Chowk and Barakhamba Road will be issued from the terminal stations.

“The passengers are requested to contact the station staff before purchasing tokens for Rajiv Chowk and Barakhamba Road Metro stations,” the metro man added.
