Woman constable accuses SHO of misbehaving

Last Updated 12 January 2012, 21:05 IST

A 23-year-old woman constable in the Delhi Police has alleged that the Station House Officer of the Kalkaji Police Station had recently misbehaved with her in his room at the station, the police said on Thursday.

“The woman constable claims that she was on night duty recently when B P S Rana asked her to come to his room. When she went inside, Rana allegedly misbehaved with her,” a senior police officer said.

The woman constable had initially reported the incident to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (south east) Meghna Yadav.

Yadav asked the victim, who had joined the police recently, to lodge a written complaint.
Later, she went ahead and gave a written complaint to Additional Commissioner of Police (south east) Ajay Chaudhry.

When contacted by Deccan Herald, Chaudhry said action will be taken against Rana after an enquiry by the Vigilance Wing of the Police Headquarters.

“The complaint has been sent to the Vigilance Wing. On the other hand, Rana has also been sent to the district lines, so that we can have a fair enquiry,” Chaudhry said.
