Centre says to double credit flow to SMEs

Giving away national awards entrepreneurs, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said “the growth of these enterprises is crucial for the economy.”

Pointing out that greater availability of credit can contribute to faster modernisation and expansion of these enterprises, Manmohan Singh also urged MSMEs to explore new and emerging sources of finance such as venture capital and private equity. The government has decided to constitute a task force to look into problems facing the MSME segment.
