Table Tennis: Senior Nationals

Karnataka men began their campaign on a winning note with a facile 3-0 victory over Uttarakhand in the team championships of the 73rd Senior National and Inter-State table tennis championships here on Monday.

Playing in Group G, the Karnataka men did not put a foot wrong as they took the first three games to blank Uttarakhand. Delhi, however, lost their first match, going down to formidable PSPB 0-3.
In the women’s section, PSPB and West Bengal were the first to ensure their places in the second stage at the SAI Sub-centre indoor hall with twin victories.

PSPB beat Rajasthan 3-0 in the first tie before easing past Madhya Pradesh 3-0 in a Group ‘A’ encounter. In Group ‘B’, West Bengal got the better of Haryana and Chattisgarh 3-0 to advance.
