A 60-year-old man who had sustained dog bites on Thursday, succumbed at a hospital in Mysore on Friday.

Kondaiahana Siddaiah of Sosale village in the taluk is the deceased. Siddaiah had slept in an inebriated condition.

He had also kept a piece of kebab in his pocket.

At around 10 pm, he woke up to eat the kebab only to attract the pack of stray dogs. The pack of hungry dogs, in a bid to snatch the piece of kebab from Siddaiah, attacked him, bit him many a times and left him greviously injured.

Owing to his age, Siddaiah could not fight the pack of dogs and by the time help arrived, he was injured badly in his thigh and legs.

Though the villagers rushed him to Epidemic  Diseases Hospital in Mysore, where he was treated for the injuries, Siddaiah  breathed his last on Friday morning.
