The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) will convene its first general body meeting of the year on February 4, in which all members of the party, including senior leaders will participate.

Addressing reporters on Thursday, KPCC president G Parameshwara said the day-long meeting will discuss important issues, including the strategies that need to be put in place to face the next Assembly elections.

He said the failures and shortcomings of the State government would be discussed at length. Issues like minimum support price not being announced, the fertiliser shortage problem not being addressed, non-implementation of development works and inaction on the Lokayukta report on mining would come up for discussion.

Parameshwara said the delay in the appointment of the Lokayukta would also be discussed at the meeting. KPCC will also outline the agenda for publicising the achievements of the UPA government at the Centre.

He said the party would give tickets only to the meritorious and those with winnability factor. “A platform will also be given to the youth,” he added.
