A bear and her two cubs aged around 10 weeks were rescued from Gubbi in Tumkur district on Wednesday.

The injured animals were shifted to the Bannerghatta Biological Park at the request of the Deputy Conservator of Forests, Tumkur.

The female bear was found to have broken all her canine teeth and incisors with severe gum injuries. Minor wounds were found on its claws and foot pads. The Park staff administered first aid on the spot and later shifted them to the zoo hospital.

The two cubs were also examined and treated for dehydration. All the three bears have been housed in the Park for further observation and treatment. The bears are responding very well to the treatment, according to a press release.
