Sources informed that the villagers were trying to collect water from the drinking water pipeline by breaking open the pipe. When valve was closed rain water gushed into the drinking water pipeline. Thus contaminated water got pumped to the main tank along with the drinking water. DMO Dr Eshwarappa said that health officials rushed to the village and started the treatment for the ailing. He directed the villagers to drink boiled water henceforth. Watermen have been asked to repair the pipelines, said the Secretary.
