BU releases revised calendar of events for 2012-13

Bangalore University has released a revised calendar of events for second, fourth, sixth and eighth semesters of BA, BSc (FAD) and BCA courses for the academic year 2012-13 and odd semester for 2012-13.

Modifying the existing calendar, the university stated that since colleges reopened on December 12, the term will end on April 16, 2012. Practical examinations will begin on April 16 and theory examinations on May 14. Theory examinations will end on June 12. 

The valuation of theory papers will commence on May 29 and the last date for submission of internal assessment is May 2.

The last date for payment of examination fee without penalty is March 8 and with the penalty March 15.

Odd semesters

For the first, third, fifth and seventh semesters, the colleges will reopen on July 16.

As per the revised schedule of events, the last date for admission to BA, BSc, BCom, BBM, BHM, BVA, BSc (FAD) and BCA courses for the year 2012-13 without fine is August 31. The last date for admission with a fine of Rs 250 is September 10.

Admission approval (admission approval procedure is as done during previous years - online admission procedure) is from October 17 to October 31. 

The allotment of register numbers and issue of hall tickets is November 8, with the last working day of the semester being December 20. Vacations will commence on December 21. 

Theory examinations will conclude on January 28 and the last date to submit internal assessment marks to the university is December 27. 

Practical examinations will commence on December 5 and valuation will begin on January 14. Colleges for second, fourth, sixth and eighth semesters will begin on February 18, 2013.

Setting ground rules for admission, the university has asked colleges to enrol students strictly in accordance with the eligibility conditions and also as per the sanctioned intake for each course. 

Non-adherence to rules will be dealt with seriously. 

Foreign students

With respect to foreign nationals whose admission is on transfer from other universities, colleges have been asked to send the applications well in advance –– on or before September 10, 2012. 

Late applications will not be accepted, the university has said.

The principals of colleges have been asked to consider marks statements of the qualifying exams from recognised boards only. The list of recognised boards are available on the Bangalore University website.
