Land grab top complaints at DC's phone-in

Encroachments reigned among the complaints at the DC’s phone-in here on Thursday.

The meeting presided over by deputy commissioner P S Vastrad recorded first complaint from Hangod, Hunsur taluk. The complaint was pertaining to encroachment and not holding grama sabha. From Mysore taluk too a complaint was aired, followed by another from Hadya in K R Nagar taluk where a road and a lake is encroached upon by land sharks, followed by Turaganur in T Narsipur taluk. Turaganur is the native place of Zilla Panchayat president Suneetha Veerappagowda.

Hygiene is a distant word in slums at Mugur, Koorgalli, Bhootalli, Kuruhalli, Doddahanasoge, Hemmaragala and Nanjangud and it came to fore with related complaints. The DC suggested solutions for a few, while others were referred to the respective departments.

CEO of ZP G Satyavathy, additional DC Naganayak, assistant commissioner Bharati, ZP planning officer Vasundara Devi and others were present at the meeting.
