After her brief appearance in ‘Rascals’, actress Lisa Haydon seems to be keeping a low profile by not signing any new movies.

But the model-turned-actress, who bore the chilly weather in the City as she walked the ramp for none other than Ritu Beri, tells Metrolife that she feels a sense of fulfillment as she is getting to do two of her favourite things in the world – modelling and acting.

“Not everyone gets to do what they love and in that sense, I feel privileged that I am getting to have my cake and eat it too,” she beams.

Born in Chennai to an Indian father and an Australian mother, Lisa has never let her modelling career take a back seat. Be it with the number of endorsements or the ramp shows she does, Lisa has kept her passion for fashion alive. “I initially took up modelling to make some pocket money and slowly it grew into a passion. Modelling is a great platform that helps one be natural in front of the camera,” says Lisa.

She also goes on to add that the notion, that models can’t act, is a huge misconception. “As a good model, one also needs to be a good actor, as our face and body language have to convey the idea behind the collection on the ramp,” she adds.

Ask her why she hasn’t signed anything after ‘Rascals’ and the actress says that she is reading a couple of scripts in Bollywood as well as in the South, but is yet to take a call.

“I have got many offers to do item numbers but I don’t want to take up just about anything. It’s very easy to get typecast in the film industry and I don’t want that to happen,” says Lisa, who had made her debut in Aisha.

But that doesn’t mean Lisa is going to stop dancing. “Ever since I was a kid I have always loved to dance and I won’t stop that for anything.

But I don’t want to limit myself to just dance, I want to showcase my talent through some good roles now. I have seen myself grow as an actress and now I want to explore my options,” she adds.
