After the terror attack in the Capital in which an Israel embassy woman was injured, police have intensified the search for a bike. They have seized around 100 red bikes from the city’s roads.

After verification-cum-checking, personnel posted at 189 police stations have seized at least 120 such bikes. But investigators have not yet got the bike used by the attacker to plant a magnetic bomb on the Innova car, which exploded five seconds later.

“The probe is on the right track. A witness’ statement has been recorded and a massive hunt is underway for the red bike,” said a senior police officer.

Police have seized around 500 bikes in various offences, including stolen and unclaimed ones. Police data show that at least 500 two-wheelers have been seized from across the city.

On not getting concrete clues so far, investigators said the probe is in its initial stage and now it has gathered pace. “A team with specialised officials in various fileds in coordination with intelligence agencies are working on the case,” said the officer.

Police have already questioned over 50 foreign nationals, specifically from Iran, Lebanon and Jordan.

After the attack on Tal Yehoshua-Koren, an Israeli working as an accountant in the embassy, police has sought the help of the Foreigner Regional Registration Offices in collecting details of people from Iran, Jordan and Lebanon residing in Delhi.

Investigators are still awaiting for the final reports from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory about the exact composition of the explosive used in the bomb.

Investigators had also asked for seven days of CCTV footage from the certain establishments, including the Canadian embassy, which falls on the route taken by the Israeli embassy car.

Tal Yehoshua Koren, who worked in the Israeli embassy in New Delhi but was not a diplomat, was going to the American Embassy School to fetch her children when the incident happened.

According to police, they are working closely with intelligence agencies to find out the identity of the attacker. Meanwhile, several Iranian students said the incident should not hamper Indo-Iran ties.
