Samuel shock for fancied Saurabh

State under-18 lads have a field day

Joining him in the last four stage were Karnataka duo of Nikhil Reddy and Sagar Manjunath and Maharashtra’s Prem Singh. Reddy has a relatively easy outing against Thomas Premkumar of Tamil Nadu 7-5, 6-3 while Sagar had to sweat it out against second-seeded Yeshwanth Nadela of Andhra Pradesh. After losing the first set 2-6, Sagar rallied in fine fashion to clinch the second 7-6 (8/6) taking the game into the decider. The Andhra player retired when the scores were 3-3 in the final set. 

It will be an all-Karnataka affair in the girls under-18 section with State players sealing all the semifinal spots. Top-seeded Nimisha Mohan, Shalaka UM and Padmapriya scored facile straight-set wins en route to semifinals while Richika Sarda had to face stiff challenge from Pamir Gogoi.
