Bosch Ltd net up 33.5% at Rs 281 cr

Bosch Limited, on Tuesday, reported 33.5 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 281.14 crore for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2011 compared to the corresponding quarter previous year. The company’s total income increased by 8.32 per cent at Rs 2040.45 crore.

Briefing reporters, Bosch Limited Managing Director V K Viswanathan said: “The rise in profits is mainly attributed to a good growth in the after market sales, improved margins and higher treasury income, which went up by 80 per cent year on year at Rs 100 crore.”

“Despite rising interest rates and fuel prices, we witnessed improved demand in certain sectors of the automotive industry such as tractors and light commercial vehicles. With consistent growth in aftermarket and power tools businesses we have been able to register a robust growth of about 20 per cent for the full year in 2011,” he added.

For the full year, the company reported 31 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 1,122.56 crore over 2010. Its sales grew by 19.7 per cent for the year at Rs 8,017.9 crore. During the year 2011, the company’s export revenues crossed the Rs 1,000 crore mark to stand at Rs 1,034 crore.

The company will continue to expand its capacities at various manufacturing plants across the country and invest Rs 700 crore in 2012 against Rs 660 crore in 2011. During the year 2011, diesel systems business grew by 19.2 per cent over 2010 at Rs 4,700 crore, aftermarket sales division contributed Rs 1,800 crore, power tools accounted for Rs 550 crore and starters and generators accounted for Rs 490 crore.
