Get clarity on NSE’s Certified Capital Market Professional course

What is NSE-Certified Capital Market Professional?

It is a course launched in joint cooperation between the National Stock Exchange of India Limited and a few reputed educational institutes across the country to impart knowledge and awareness about the securities market and thereby, upgrading the skills and proficiency of the participants of the course.

What is the eligibility criterion?

Students of associated institutes and other institutes, working professionals, investors can register for the NCCMP programme. Basic educational qualification would be as decided by the respective institute.

How do I register?

Candidates may contact the course coordinator/ admissions officer of the respective institute and register by filling the requisite details and paying the fees.

What is the duration of the course?

The total number of class hours would be 100 which includes 80 hours of theoretical session and 20 hours of practical training spread over a period of four to six months. The dates of the course will be decided by the respective institute.

What is the training methodology?

Eighty hours of theoretical session will be conducted by the respective institute with a few sessions conducted by  professionals from the NSE. Twenty hours of practical sessions on the Trading System (mock or simulated environment) and exposure to back office operations at a NSE Trading Member office will be provided at the respective location where the educational institute is situated.

What is the exam format?

Two examinations and project work have to be completed during the course. Details are as follows:

Mid-term exam: This will be conducted by the respective institute. Topics will be provided by the institute and the same must be submitted and evaluated before the candidate appears for the end-term exam.

End-term exam: This is an online exam which will be conducted by the NSE at the same location where the course was conducted or at a nearby location. Date of exam will be finalised by NSE in co-ordination with the institute. Exam date cannot be changed once it is fixed.

When will the certificate be awarded?

Upon the successful completion of the programme, the candidate would be issued a joint certificate by the respective institute and NSE. The certificate would be distributed by the respective institute within a period of one month from the date of course completion.

What are the requisites for course completion?

Candidates must secure at least 50 per cent marks for the mid-term. Submission of project work of satisfactory quality and 50 per cent marks in end-term examination is mandatory.

What if I am unable to secure the requisite percentage?

The candidate will be given another chance to meet the above-mentioned requisite. If the same is not met, then the candidate can avail of a participant certificate or appear for the exam along with the next batch of students  by paying the examination fees.

What is the course fee?

The student may contact the institute for the same. Tuition fee will cover the cost of study material (provided by respective college), examination fee, cost of certificate, practical training sessions, etc.

Is this course a substitute for any of the NCFM modules?

No. This course will facilitate an easier understanding of various NCFM modules. Candidates are usually encouraged to appear for more NCFM modules.
