JOIN USThe police have arrested three and detained two persons in connection with the love rivalry that ended up as a double murder Saturday night, in RMC Yard Police limits.
Kishore (19), a resident of Krishnananda Nagar and a first year BCom student, KLE College clashed with Keshava Murthy(23) outside Goraguntepalya’s Hitech Cyber Cafe where the latter was employed. Kishore and his friends — Shiva, Manja, Harish, and Renuka attacked Keshav with a sickle on the neck and the hand leaving him dead on the spot. Dileep, Kiran and Manja Keshav’s friends retaliated, chased down the gang of Kishore and attacked them, with knife and a sickle, leaving Kishore dead.
Now Renuka Prasad and Harish, both associates of Kishore are under treatment for injuries sustained in the brawl and have been detained for questioning. Shiva, Dileep and Kiran, associates of Keshav Murthy who retaliated and killed Kishore, have been arrested, say police sources. Both Kishore and Keshav Murthy had allegedly been in love with the same minor girl, a class X student of Panchajanya School, I block, Rajajinagar. Twenty days back ago, Keshav Murthy, a resident of Jalahalli, had gone to Kishore’s place and had threatened him to keep off the girl as he was in love with her.
On Saturday night, Kishore turned up at the cyber café where Keshav Murthy was working with his friends and in the brawl that ensued killed him. Post-mortem was conducted on both the bodies and handed over to their respective families. The two were cremated on Sunday.
While Kishore’s father Narayanappa is a retired peon at the Department of Mines and Geology, Keshav Murthy’s father works as a helper in a small departmental store at Goraguntepalya. The two were cremated today.
The police have recorded the statement of the minor girl in question. The girl has stated that she wasn’t acquainted with either of the two deceased.
