Komul workers cheated of PF, allege security staff

Concern over no records of deposits in the provident fund office

Security staff working at Kolar Chikkaballapur District Co-operative Milk Producers Federation (Komul) have alleged that their PF contribution deducted from salary has not been remitted to their account.

The security at Komul has been outsourced to a private company. The staff have registered a complaint with the District Police officer, on Wednesday, that they were threatened of dire consequences, when asked about the PF amount.

About 38 persons work as security staff in the Komul from two years. Every month Komul deducts Rs 578 from their salary as PF amount, which is then managed by ‘Golden Facilitation Services’ an outsourcing company in Bangalore. 

But the company has rubbished any misappropriation and has said that no amount was deposited in their company as PF fund.

When contacted, Provident Fund office situated near Sharada Talkies in the taulk and main office in Bangalore, there was a shocking revelation. 

There is no record of any amount deposited in the name of the security staff. There was no record found in both the offices. 

A complaint has been registered with the Managing Director of Komul. Following which the officers at Komul promised actions for payment of the PF fund within a week. But 20 days have passed and no action has been taken yet, the workers lamented.

Workers alleged that the Security Manager, Venkatesh abused them, when asked about the records of the PF being deposited.

The workers in their complaint have stated, Venkatesh threatened him that “You will not even be paid even a rupee. Do what you can. You will be fixed with false cases and will be subjected to jail term.”

Action sought

Assistant Security officers Chandrappa. D V Naraya- naswamy and N V Shivappa have demanded legal action against the Security Managers and officers who have cheated them of the PF fund. 

They also urged that amount be returned to them as soon as possible. About 12 Security officers have signed the complaint copy, submitted to the Police officer. Copies of the complaint also have been sent to Labour Minister, Commissioner of Labour Department and Police Superintendent. 

Workers have specified that the fight will be carried on till they get the PF amount. Komul had announced bonus under Price Fluctuation Scheme for Ugadi. But the management has not taken any action to provide provident fund for the staff. The workers have demanded that the management give them justice.
