'Spot the talent' at SPI

The third edition of ‘Spot the Talent’, the annual training programme for high school children, commenced last week at SPI.

This fun and educative programme gives the students an insight into the world of Information Technology.

An aptitude test was conducted in nine schools in the city to select the students for this programme, according to a press release from the SPI.

During these two weeks of training, the students are being trained in basic softwares and programming languages like HTML, C language, MS Office, CSS and computer networking.

They also participate in soft skills workshops. This program gives the ninth graders an opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and work on challenging assignments, said the release.  

Participating schools

The schools that participated in Spot the Talent-2012 included some of the prestigious institutions such as Acharya Vidya Kula, CFTRI School, Demonstration School (DMS), Excel Public School, Ideal Jawa Rotary High School, Mysore West Lions Sevaniketan, Manasarowar Pushkarini Vidyashram, St Joseph’s Central School and St Joseph’s High School (State).
