Design workshop for children

Channelising energy

British Library, in association with United Arts Society, is presenting ‘Design FUN daas – Solving Everyday Problems, a workshop on design of everyday things by Rahul Ajmera and Vineet Singh on April 14, 11 am to 1 pm.

The venue is British Library. The workshop is for children from 8 years to 12 years. The number of participants will be 20 and the registration fee is Rs 350 for non-members and 250 for members. The aim of this workshop is to sensitise children to the basics of the design thinking and design process. It is specifically designed to engage children in fun and creative exercises and help them understand their importance in everyday life. This session will channelise their creative and analytical energies towards the small problems of daily lives. Empowering the children to believe that they are capable of identifying, understanding and solving everyday problems is the goal of this workshop.

The workshop will include introductions (10 minutes), presentation of alternate designs of things they see everyday (15 minutes), helping children identify problems that they face in their daily lives (20 minutes), creative phase of problem-solving and model-making (60 minutes) and presentations of children’s solutions (15 minutes).
