HDK flays CM for China jaunt

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, Kumaraswamy said that Yeddyurappa had insulted the State farmers by saying that they were lazy compared to farmers in China.

“Yeddyurappa may even forget his favourite mantra of ‘Gujarat Model’, and start chanting the ‘China Model’. He visited villages in China, but he would not have made derogatory remarks against farmers of Karnataka if he had visited the fields here. The farmers are suffering a lot due to the drought situation in many places, and crop loss has taken place in 20 lakh hectare. The Government did not keep its promise to give Rs 1,000 each to the farmers for sowing operations again,” he observed.
