Bangalore’s party crowd had reason to rejoice recently. It was the second edition of ‘Submerge Supernova’, a one-day boutique festival that recreated the atmosphere of a hard core party.

This was an opportunity for Bangaloreans to unwind and listen to some good music.
The venue was divided into three stages, where a whopping 20 musical artistes had a chance to showcase their skills for a whopping 12 hours straight.

The line-up of artistes for the event included some well-known people who got the crowd cheering — these included international names such as Ferry Corsten from the Netherlands, Daniel Haaksman from Germany and Eelke Kleijn — also from the Netherlands.

Ferry Corsten, also known as System F, specialises in trance music and is a DJ as well as a remixer. He has his own weekly radio show, and has played all over the world.

Eelke Kleijn, on the other hand, soared to fame with his album ‘Naturally Artificial’ and hosts the popular podcast ‘Out Of The Box’. Coma and Ada from Germany were also present, to the delight of the assembled crowd.

Popular Indian groups and individuals, such as ‘Midival Punditz’, DJ Pearl, ‘Blot’, Sanjay Dutta and Nawed Khan also took turns on the stage, belting out popular hits and new numbers which kept the energy levels at the party high.

Praveen Acharya, Vachan Chinnapa, Vinayak A, ‘Audio Units’, ‘Brute Force’ and the ever-popular Shaan also dazzled the crowd with electrifying performances.

The artistes performed a variety of genres, such as electronica, trance, techno, house, dubstep and many others, that kept the crowd pumped up and full of energy.

The event was hosted by Nikhil Chinapa, the video jockey and Rohit Barker, and was given a futuristic, space-related theme which created a fun ambience for party animals.

Decorations such as large rockets, planets and spaceships in bold, metallic colours gave the venue a galactic feel.

What was more, a makeshift flea market and food court were also set up at the venue, so that the City’s party crowd had unconventional things to buy as well as snack on.
