Prostitution racket busted, eight held

The Siddapur police arrested a man, who was working as a pimp in a prostitution racket, from near the Ashoka Pillar recently.

Based on the clues given by him, the police raided an apartment in Anisha Meadows in Koramangala VI Phase and arrested eight persons involved in the racket.

Four girls, including one from Uzbekistan and a film artiste from Mumbai were arrested. Four pimps too were arrested. Shivaprakash, who owns the apartment and the prime accused in the racket, and Usman managed to escape. The police seized Rs 40,000 in cash, two laptops, 12 mobile phones and a camera from the apartment.
