Gang of interstate contract killers busted, three arrested

With the arrest of three men, Delhi Police on Wednesday claimed to have busted a gang of interstate contract killers and extortionists.

Kuldeep Singh Yadav, Jitender and Surender are involved in several cases of kidnapping for ransom, attempt to murder, car robbery, extortion and arms act, said V Renganathan, additional commissioner of police (west).

“We have also recovered three pistols – a .9mm and two 7.65mm, 15 live cartridges and a Hyundai i10 car from their possession,” he added.

They were held after an information was received that Kuldeep has organised a gang with his associates and is extorting money from local cable operators at gunpoint.

Tip-off

“In this regard, intelligence was collected and Kuldeep’s hideouts were located and checked. Sources were also deployed to collect information about his latest movements,” Renganathan said.


On Tuesday, specific information was received that the gang will come in a Hyundai i10 car around 7:30 to 8 pm on Najafgarh Road.

“After this information, a raiding party was constituted and a trap was laid. Around 8 pm, an i10 car identified by the source was intercepted by our team.

“Three persons were apprehended from the car as they were just preparing to fire on the team,” Renganathan added.


Previous cases

After interrogation, it was found that the trio have involvement in cases filed at Inderpuri, Jaffarpur, Najafgarh and Vasant Kunj police stations in Delhi, and Jhajjar, Gurgaon sector 10 and Shushant Lok police stations in Haryana.
