BJP MLAs head to Goa resort

Last Updated 13 May 2012, 20:34 IST

The political crisis in the State BJP will shift to a resort in Goa on Monday, when a group of party legislators hold a meeting there.

Science and Technology Minister Anand Asnotikar himself confirmed this to reporters who met him at his residence on Sunday morning. As many as 25 MLAs, including the five MLAs owing allegiance to Balachandra Jarkiholi, are expected to take part in this meeting, he said.

“It is better to go for polls if the Yeddyurappa camp doesn’t drop its demand to oust D V Sadananda Gowda from the chief minister’s chair. Even we have had enough of this drama. People of the State too are disappointed,” Asnotikar added.

He said there was no need to convene the legislature party meeting at this stage. “Sadananda Gowda, Eshwarappa, Ananth Kumar, Yeddyurappa and Jagadish Shettar are like five Pandavas in the State BJP. It will be better if they discuss and defuse the crisis,” Asnotikar said.
