President of state youth Congress Rizwan Arshad alleged that the BJP government was wasting its time in internal bickerings while people were suffering due to drought acrosss the state.

Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday, he said, 123 taluks in the state have been declared drought-hit. But, the government has forgotten its duty of consoling people and is involved in internal battles more than 10 times in a span of four years.

He said: “Opposing maladministration by the BJP, ‘yuva sangharsh abhiyan’ would be held on May 17. Protests would be staged at all 176 taluks, by locking tahsildars’ offices.”
Rizwan said since D V Sadananda Gowda took over as chief minister nine months back, there is anarchy in the state. He said, progress in corruption is the only development the state has seen during the rule of BJP government.

Alleging that Sadananda Gowda, with 22 departments, has failed to provide efficient administration, he said, there is a conspiracy to weaken the office of Lokayuktha by not appointing an able person. “Officials are openly involved in corruption,” he added.

BPL cards

He charged the government’s for its failure in distributing BPL cards properly. “Among more than 92,000 applications from Mysore, only 210 have received the cards. Many poor and needy people are deprived of the benefits. Senior citizens and physically challenged persons are not provided pension. Bhagyalakshmi scheme is not reaching eligible persons,” he said.

Rizwan said the police department has failed miserably in murder case of assistant conservator of forest Madan Nayak recently in Dandeli forest area.  “Police officials have not responded properly when the incident occurred and did not file a complaint when the victim himself went to the police station.”

Anti people government

Arshad accused the government as inefficient, which has failed to protect the law and order in the state. “People are living under fear of political developments happening in state.

Condemning the anti-people government, ‘yuva sangharsha abhiyana’ would be held. At the same time, in all 176 taluks, a protest would be staged.”
City Congress president C Dasegowda, corporator Somasundar and former president of Mysore district youth Congress B J Vijay Kumar were present.
