It will host 16 specially designed pavilions that will come to life with interactive presentations exploring how to improve life within cities. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The mela is part of the ‘Germany and India 2011-2012: Infinite Opportunities’, which celebrates 60 years of Indo-German diplomatic ties.<br /><br />An exclusive concept at the ‘Urban Mela’ is the ‘Youth University’, which is designed for ambitious talented youngsters. <br /><br />One of the ‘Youth University’ events is the ‘Youth Science Slam’, which will be <br />held from June 26 to 29, 6.30 pm to 8 pm at Goethe Cultural Pavilion, ‘Indo-<br />German Urban Mela’, Palace Grounds<br /><br />Budding scientists from Bangalore will get 10 minutes on stage to present a scientific concept in an entertaining and exciting way. Participants are free to choose any topic that fits into ‘City Spaces’, which is the theme. <br /><br />The winners will get exciting prizes — among others — a trip to Germany for a two-week internship at the Fraunhofer Institute in Berlin and a free German language course at the Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan in Bangalore.<br /><br />The ‘Science Slam’ is open to scientific minds between 15 and 24 years. <br /><br />You can apply with a short text on the selected topic and indication of age to: urban_mela_science-slam@bangalore.goethe.org<br /><br />The deadline for applications is June 18.
