The ‘Indo-German Urban Mela’ will be held from June 22 to July 1 at Palace Grounds. It will host 16 specially designed pavilions that will come to life with interactive presentations exploring how to improve life within cities.
The mela is part of the ‘Germany and India 2011-2012: Infinite Opportunities’, which celebrates 60 years of Indo-German diplomatic ties.
An exclusive concept at the ‘Urban Mela’ is the ‘Youth University’, which is designed for ambitious talented youngsters.
One of the ‘Youth University’ events is the ‘Youth Science Slam’, which will be
held from June 26 to 29, 6.30 pm to 8 pm at Goethe Cultural Pavilion, ‘Indo-
German Urban Mela’, Palace Grounds
Budding scientists from Bangalore will get 10 minutes on stage to present a scientific concept in an entertaining and exciting way. Participants are free to choose any topic that fits into ‘City Spaces’, which is the theme.
The winners will get exciting prizes — among others — a trip to Germany for a two-week internship at the Fraunhofer Institute in Berlin and a free German language course at the Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan in Bangalore.
The ‘Science Slam’ is open to scientific minds between 15 and 24 years.
You can apply with a short text on the selected topic and indication of age to: urban_mela_science-slam@bangalore.goethe.org
