Halfway through the year, it is time to replenish the wardrobe, and your collection of jewellery for the days ahead. Home-grown fashion brand Impressionz has brought an array of clothes and accessories with its ongoing designer trade fair, says Preethi Nagaraj
I mpressionz, Mysore's most celebrated fashion exhibition is back again. And like it always does, Impressionz has packed quite a bit of punch. A splendid spread of fashion, with carefully selected designers showcasing their fare, Impressionz will role out the best range for its connoisseurs to choose from. The event is an interesting rendezvous for fashionistas offering two days unlimited choices and fashion, at Hotel Regaalis, on June 2 and 3, 2012.
Opening the fest will be fitness expert Wanitha Ashok and Business head of Deepam Silks C Pramila. Having gone thematic since last few seasons, Impressionz this time has gift wrapped itself around 'The Art of Fashion.'
Designers who love to treat fashionistas of the city with their cut-above-the-rest creations, are here with their best creations with a wide range of salwars, sarees, jewellery, purses and clutches, footwear, bed linen and quilts.
Crowd-pullers
Among the crowd-pullers are Sapnas from Mumbai, here for the first time, and are known for their long and short kaftaans with hand embroidery, long kurtas with laces and party wear salwar suites. Fashion Couture from Kolkota will showcase silk n cotton tunics with batik prints.
Smart Kurties come in flowing and comfortable fabrics like chiffon and georgette. Bling Haute Couture from Mumbai is bringing in strappy footwear, the hot favourite of the season, western wear with short blouses n skirts, creating a complete mix of elements.
Sheetal Sharma, who is known for her cool cottons with classic cuts in sober shades, Jameel who is inspired by carefree urban women will put forth their best creations for heritage city.
Vamangini - a very Popular designer from Delhi who weaves magic with intricate detailing and mixing of fabrics of different textures on kurthies is here with an awesome collection.
And as the name goes, Awesomest from Mumbai is putting forth smart casuals with her latest collection comprising bright jewel coloured mini and maxi dresses and flowing midis. Red Rose brings a range which incorporates fresh colours and trendy styles of smart formals. A great collection of totes, sling bags, clutches and jute brocade bhatuas await to be chosen from.
Sarees are woven magic that come from a wide range of designers. Sarisha is here with intricate work on silks and georgettes with kundan work on them. Om sai blessings have exquisite work on sarees with phulkari, kashmiri, zardozi and sequins.
Sthree from Chennai unveils its latest collection of flowing fabrics like crepes, chiffons as each sari is a masterpiece with embellishments on them. Bengali cottons from Kolkota designed by Naari are here to enthrall the fashion lovers.
After sarees, and dresses, there is a breathtaking range of jewellery to be chosen from.
Sunflower Mumbai has come with some bold designs that are the flavour of the season.
Home bodies can choose from great spread of bed linen from The Tulips in cottons and silk. Navij enterprises has great variety of quilts and comfortable sleep wear in cottons .
