The Enforcement Directorate of Bangalore has received permission from the Lokayukta Special Court to interrogate Jaggaiah and Venkaiah, who are accused along with former minister Katta Subramanya Naidu and others, of irregularities in acquisition of land by KIADB.

The Directorate, which approached the Lokayukta Court on Wednesday, received permission to interrogate the two from 11 am to 5 pm at Parappana Agrahara jail premises on June 9 and 11. Directions have been given to the jail superintendent to make arrangements for the officials of the Directorate to interrogate the duo. They were arrested by the Lokayukta police on Saturday.

The Directorate had registered a case under Prevention of Money Laundering Act against Naidu and others last year after the Lokayukta police submitted a charge sheet in the case.

Jaggaiah and Venkaiah are wanted for floating a benami company, Indu Builders and Developers, for opening bank accounts in the company’s name and for forging the signatures of land owners who were granted compensation and cheating them of their money.
