Congress leader Janardan Poojary defied Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda to initiate CBI inquiry against the allegations made by BJP state president Eshwarappa.

Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, Poojary said BJP president himself has confessed that his party had indulged in anti-democratic affairs of buying MLAs when it faced problem to form government. MLAs were also bought based on castes.

Poojary said how the fact can be untrue when the party president himself has come out with such confessional statements, he questioned and said one cannot expect BJP government to do justification in conducting inquiry into so called accusations of the party president. Although the party president might have confessed, it is not BJP culture to repent for the mistakes that are committed, he ridiculed.

Heavily coming down on the ongoing Global Investors Meet, the Congress leader ridiculed it as a real estate business. He alleged that BJP government has brought farmers on streets by acquiring as many as 76,000 acres of fertile agricultural land for promoting industrialisation. He said that the government has failed to initiate even a single industry in the acquired land. Government has become instable and administrative machinery has become volatile. There are no people in the government to take decisions including secretaries, he added.

Poojary called upon graduates and teachers not to vote for BJP candidates in the forthcoming south west graduates and teachers constituency polls. He said voting for BJP is absolutely supporting corruption as BJP is the epitome of corruption. BJP is the house for all corrupt deeds. The governance of BJP in state has set examples for illegal affairs like rave party held in St Mary’s island, watching sexually explicit videos in the sacred place like Vidhan Soudha. Ministers who are part of the government are all having one or the other sort of corrupt charges against them. He questioned what BJP has done to solve the grievances of teachers and graduates. BJP has violated the poll code of conduct by misusing the administrative powers.

Poojary said there is a need for competent people who can carry forward and initiate the works of central government which has released as many as Rs 21,31,000 crores on education sector. BJP MLCs have failed to take actions when the instances of question paper leak were revealed, he alleged.
