Meeting their favourite characters

It was a non-stop fun and excitement when the much-hyped movie ‘Madagascar 3’, and one of its characters Alex, were brought down to the City.
Kids dragged their parents along for the premiere of the movie that was held at one of the malls in the City. The little fans also had the chance to interact and shake hands with Alex.

Among those who came for the event were toddlers and older kids. And they couldn’t contain their excitement when they saw Alex, the lion.
“Where is Alex, I can’t see him. I am so excited to see him. I was waiting for an hour to see him. I even shook hands with him,” said an elated Arjun, who had come along with his parents for the premiere.

In some cases, the parents had to cajole their children to come for the movie. There were a couple of parents who had taken off from work to accompany their children.
“We were just as excited as our son to watch the movie.

So, when we heard about the special screening we took a day off from work to come and watch it together. My son is a big fan of the movie and we have DVDs of the first and second part of the movie; but it is always better to see animation on the big screen,” said Shobhi Padmanabhan, a homemaker.

‘Madagascar 3’ is a 3D computer-animated comedy film. This is the third film in the series following ‘Madagascar’ and ‘Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa’. The film is directed by Eric Darnell, Tom McGrath and Conrad Vernon.

Varshini came with her brother, Chaitanya, who had dressed for the occasion. Dressed in a spiderman suit, he was all set to meet Alex, the lion. “I am extremely happy to see Alex; it’s like a dream come true. I took pictures with him and also shook hands with him,” added Chaitanya.
