Confusion reigns supreme at Madhuvana Layout in Srirampura. And residents of the layout are an inconvenienced lot as neither the Mysore City Corporation (MCC) nor the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) has responded positively to the pleas of the dwellers, who demanded a walking track.

Madhuvana Layout is located in the Krishnaraja constituency, from where medical education and district in-charge minister S A Ramdas has been elected.

Residents complain that despite promises made by the minister, work on several projects, including walking track for the park and road repair have not yet been taken up.

While the minister inaugurated the project for taking up work on the park eight months back, it is yet to see the light of day.

The layout has 600 houses and has a population of around 2,000 people.

While initially fencing for the park — at a cost of Rs 24 lakh — was provided, the promise to improve the park at a cost of Rs 36.14 lakh has been on the back burner.

Residents complain that the forest department has planted more than 600 saplings at the park, but nobody is taking care of the saplings.

Residents claim that the minister had also assured of creating parks in and around LIC, BEML and SBM layouts, but it hasn’t materialised as yet.

Repeated pleas to the public bodies to repair roads have failed as roads are in a pathetic condition.
Earlier, the layout was included under the Chamundeshwari constituency.

When it was shifted to Krishnaraja constituency in 2008, residents had heaved a sigh of relief hoping that the BJP MLA and party coming to power would bring good tidings for them.

But, with none of the elected representatives taking initiative to speed-up the works, residents have been left in a lurch.

Corporator Kempanna, who represents ward 13, was unavailable for comments on the issue.
