D G Rao new Principal of Regional Inst of Edn

Prof D G Rao on Thursday took charge as the new Principal of Regional Institute of Education (RIE) Mysore. Prof Premalata Sharma handed over the charge to Rao.

Rao hails from Veleru, Krishna district of  Andhra Pradesh. He was the Professor of Zoology at RIE Bhubaneshwar before his promotion and posting to RIE Mysore.

Science is his area of expertise, with specialisation in Marine Biology and  Environmental Biology. He has richly contributed to the field of population education also. He has guided a number of Ph D students.

He has to his credit research papers in national and international journals of repute.
He had his education in Andhra University. He has conducted a number of research projects funded by the Union Ministry of Environment and Forest, said a press release.
