BSR Cong plans protest

The BSR Congress party of former minister B Sriramulu will stage a protest against the government for not desilting Tungabhadra dam in Munirabad, on July 8 and 9.

A decision to this effect was taken at the core committee meeting held in Bangalore on Monday. The committee, headed by Siraj Sheik, has 16 members .

A committee to draft manifesto for the next Assembly elections has also been formed. Y N Goudar, Ravindra Reshme, C S Dwarkanath are among those who are on the panel.

Sriramulu will resume his padayatra on July 29 from Karwar to Kanakapura.

The women’s wing of the party, headed by Rakshita, will organise a State-level rally in the second week of August, he said.
